Is the Double Benefit Always Better?
Recently, on the market there has been a new yogurt called Fage TruBlend. This yogurt contains no added sugars, stevia, sucralose, or acesulfame potassium. Each container has just 110 to 120 calories along with 13 grams of protein. But consumer beware! This product does contain inulin,a processed fiber from the chicory root. The added fiber doesn't always mean it is good for the stomach, and can cause sensitivity to people with GI issues. Usually used as a thickening agent to yogurt, this product can cause more harm then good but is added to foods for it's "health" benefits. These yogurts are delicious and contain no added sugar but just be aware of the ingredients list before buying.
